The Flower at the Bus Stop
Quiet, Secluded, Empty, the bus stop waits, the shelter's dim strip light flickers every few seconds, attempting to provide light to its interior.
Shouldn't be surprised really, Llanfold isn't exactly the busiest town in Wales at 6am on an autumn morning, I had been sitting here for too long, the tea was lingering on the side table cooling at a gradual pace, moving to grab it didn't seem worth it, compared to staring a million miles at the flickering light of this unremarkable bus shelter, and the sound of my irregular heartbeats
"why"
Well i'm not exactly one for the unremarkable.
Something about this area seemed off ever since we moved into this building, I have never been able to put my finger on it until the reports, town residents enquiring about the sounds of soft singing, odd faint music being heard near the proximity of this area, passing by the road, waiting by the bus stop?
can't say I've heard it myself, but then again I detest riding buses. My attempts to check CCTV have been in vain, with the nearest suspiciously not covering the stop.
Just when I was about to take a swig of the tea, something caught my eye as I moved, a red flower blooming weirdly on the side of the bus shelter.
was this there before? I had been staring at this place for hours surely this isn't the first time I've seen this?
I'm not a botanist, but a bright red flower like this of this size seemed a very peculiar thing to be growing in the middle of Autumn.... did someone plant it there?
"its only a god damn flower I'm looking much into this" As I said this, one of the morning buses arrived past my window stopping at the shelter.
Usually Morning commuters arriving for work in the town, or heading home from a night shift, although this time, only one person exited, I couldn't quite make out the figure until the bus drove away revealing a woman, Red hair, white wool coat, pacing up and down the shelter unsettled, looking as if she was talking to herself.
She caught sight of the red flower I spotted earlier, staring at it for several seconds, she then turned to look straight at the building I was sitting in, and stared right towards me, a bit too long for my liking.
I stood up, suddenly feeling very anxious I turned behind me, for a safety check, nothing there, I turned back, the girl was gone
"How, where? did she go" Even the flower was gone
I was thrown back by what just happened
Suddenly the front door opened, I pulled my gun
"James?..... you ok?" said Jess, A familiar face
"what are you doing here you look like you've seen a ghost"
I had.....
